Roberto Coda Zabetta: biography

Roberto Coda Zabetta was born in Biella in 1975.

From 1996 to 2000 he has been assistant to painter Aldo Mondino. When he was still very young, he got important awards: in 2000 he won the Prize Passaggi a Nord Ovest, Pistoletto Foundation (Biella) and in 2003 the Young Artists Prize, MiArt-Roger Dubuis Mosieur (Milan). In 2004 he participated to the XIV Quadriennale d'Arte, Turin, and had an important solo exhibition at Palazzo Venezia, Rome.

Among his publications: IN CODA (2003); PPP and COLORS (2004).

After many solo and group exhibitions in public and private areas, in 2006 he had an important show in Rome, at India Theatre, where six big works on canvas hemmed in monumental wood boards and some works on paper were displayed.

In 2005 he settled down in London, where he was invited to the "BP Portrait Award 2006", National Portrait Gallery, London.

With Filippo Sciascia he is now at the Indonesian National Gallery, Jakarta. This show - "KOI and TRINACRIA" - opens a new phase of his artistic career, where his art meets the South-eastern Asian culture and iconography.

He lives and works between Italy and London.
