Michael Rotondi: biography
Michael Rotondi was born in Bari in 1977, but has been living in Livorno for most of his life.
After high school Rotondi attended the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, where he studied painting. Two important steps for his career have been made possible by working side by side for some periods with artists Gianfranco Notargiacomo and Riccardo Guarneri.
Michael Rotondi has been participating to a number of exhibitions in the past few years: he featured "Allarmi Como" in 2006 and 2008. In addition, on his side also some important solo shows, such as "K to your heart", curated by Ivan Quaroni at the K Gallery Arte Contemporanea of Legnano (Milan) and, in 2007, invited by Luca Beatrice in his studio in Turin, "Thanx for the add..." curated by Valeria De Simoni.
In 2009 he partecipated to the Prague Biennale, in the Italian section "Italian Newbrow" and in 2010 to the Berlin group show "Border Transit", curated by Valeria De Simoni and patronized by the Italian Cultural Institute.
Finalist to several competitions - Premio Pagine Bianche D'autore (2005), Premio Celeste (2006) - in the very last year (2011), Luca Beatrice selected him for the "Premio Ceres4Art".
He now lives and works in Milan.
