Already present since 2006 in the FlashArt magazine Top 100 edited by italian art professionals, Davide Nido has sold well ever since in international auctions and has been seen in important solo and group exhibitions, among which the recent "Italian Art 1968-2007. Painting" curated by Vittorio Sgarbi and Maurizio Sciaccaluga at the Palazzo Reale in Milan. In 2008 he took part in the XV Quadriennale d'Arte in Rome, while in 2009 he participated in the 53th edition of the Venice Biennale for the Padiglione Italia. Furthermore, he took part in many important exhibitions in Italy and Europe: among his personal exhibitions there are “Viaggio su M'arte” (Mantova, 2004), “Beruhrungspunkte- Punti di Contatto” (2005, Francoforte), Davide Nido (2007, Parigi), "A Campus Point" (2009, Lecco), while his many group exhibitions include "Out of the Blue" (2002, Milano), "Flowers" (2005, Lugano), as well as the very recent “Giorni Felici” (2010, Milano). After studies in architecture and an artistic apprenticeship at Brera with Luciano Fabro and Aldo Mondino, the 40-year-old Davide Nido developed a highly personal artistic language in which vinyl glue is used to produce large compositions on canvas. His patches of colour are orchestrated in accordance with an initially rigourous geometric layout, but the artist likes to distrub and corrupt this in a manner that is at times imperceptible and at times leads to the extreme consequence of the dissolution of form.
