E' previsto per oggi, 27 ottobre, presso la galleria Grossetti, il finissage della mostra di Lorenzo Puglisi dal titolo "Presenze". Proprio in occasione del suo quarantesimo compleanno!

Personale seguita dall'installazione di 6 dipinti di Lorenzo Puglisi ad Art Verona 2011 con buon riscontro di pubblico e di critica. Una pittura, quella di Puglisi, quasi monotematica, centrata sul ritratto, oli materici che si organizzano sulla tela come una sciabolata, il gesto che libera o cela una misteriosa presenza. Qualità e intelligenza pittorica tentano di contenere immense energie racchiuse nel profondo dell'uomo.

Stefano Abbiati at the group show "La dimora artica"

The exhibition, curated by Andrea Lacarpia, displays works by Stefano Abbiati, Marco Carli Rossi, Marco Cassani, Bruno Marrapodi.

The artists are invited to portrait their interior worlds, the very origin of their being, the so called "Dimora Artica".

The show will open on the 30th of April 2011 at 6 pm at Galleria delle Battaglie, via delle Battaglie 69/a, Brescia. Until the 4th of June.

CUOGHI VS OLDANI. VENDETTA! A Dish best served cool

On 12 April the Fuori Salone event “VANNI CUOGHI vs DAVIDE OLDANI. VENDETTA! A Dish Best Served Cold” will open.

An art, design, and food happening curated by Igor Zanti in which the artist Vanni Cuoghi and the chef Davide Oldani meet to prepare a metaphorical Last Supper for twelve guests, in which the main dish is vendetta.

The high-impact, elegant style of Vanni Cuoghi can be seen in twelve ironic “counter-vendettas” on the rims of as many dishes, which are unique also in their design. In a reversal of roles, each dish takes from various moments of the mythology of social customs and human history, both before and after Christ, from Ariadne and the Minotaur against Theseus, through to the Pope against Cattelan, to mention but two of the subjects painted by Vanni Cuoghi.

The twelve unique specimens created and painted by Vanni Cuoghi will remain on display until 18 April at Galleria Bianconi, via Lecco 20, Milan.

Giulio Zanet at the group exhibition "Mehr Licht"

"Mehr Licht" – More Light - is a tribute to the founder of GlogauAIR, the Spanish artist Chema Alvargonzález (1960-2009).

The different proposals offer a reflection on the role of the light from the most varied perspectives composed by the artists who, by working and living there, give life to the Alvargonzález's project.

Marco Demis in the solo exhibition "Altari"

The exhibition is a collection of a cycle of recent works with the recurring theme of aristocratic virgins with nivea skin and elegant retro clothes.

Demis' art is not one which revolves around identity - as his dolls are lacking identity – and does not even revolve around seriality. His works conduct the function of simulacra, idols that do not allude to a further meaning.

Baudrillard defines the simulacrum (eidolon) a “truth that hides the fact that it doesn't have any". Demis speaks of his dolls as “intimate fixity, lacking a referent”.

The exhibition is on until 25th May 2011 at gallery GiaMaArt studio, via Iadonisi 14, 82038 Vituliano.

Stefano Bolcato finalist at the Art Laguna International Prize

Stefano Bolcato is amongst the finalists of the Arte Laguna Prize - Painting Section.

Bolcato is competing with an oil on canvas titled "EVA NAISDRIM (Have a nice dream)", which is described by the artist himself as follows: "Eva is a beautiful girl from Eastern Europe who left her family: she works at night as a striptease dancer and hopes to strike it rich. Her pseudonym is EVA NAISDRIM. He is a regular customer, lonely, bored, rich, or maybe not. In the same place, in the night, each of them goes after his/her special dream".

The work will be on display, together with the artworks by the other finalists, at the Arsenale in Venice, from 12th to 22nd of March.
